JURISAI’s CBC Holds its Second Meeting

10 April 2026

JURISAI’s Capacity Building Commission (CBC) held its second meeting on March 24, 2026 via videoconference. The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) members of the Commission, from Senegal, Burkina Faso, France, Brazil, Morocco, Mauritania, Portugal, Guinea-Bissau and Chad.

The meeting agenda covered the following topics:

  • Presenting the results pertaining to the identification of SAIs’ training needs;
  • Review of the modalities for assigning responsibilities regarding the coordination and management of 2025–2027 training activities;
  • Outlining forward-looking perspectives and next steps.

The discussions provided an opportunity to take stock of the attained progress since the Commission's creation in 2024, and to dwell on the prioritization of activities and the conditions for their implementation. Challenges related to work coordination, financing and member engagement were also addressed.

A significant portion of the discussions was devoted to analyzing training needs, drawing on the findings of the survey conducted by the CBC. The survey pinpointed several areas identified as priorities for SAIs, such as jurisdictional audit of accounts, jurisdictional investigation, quality management, fair trial and clerk functions. The discussions further underscored the importance of coordination with JURISAI's commissions and cooperation with INTOSAI stakeholders.

At the close of the meeting, it was agreed that the Court of Auditors of Senegal would organize a professional seminar in June with a view to sustaining the momentum already set in motion.

It is worth noting that the CBC is one of JURISAI’s three operational bodies. It comprises 18 member SAIs; its mandate involves building SAIs' jurisdictional capacities with training, peer review, developing self-assessment tools, and sharing knowledge and best practices.
