JURISAI, jurisdictional functions at the service of transparency, accountability and good governance

Casa meeting

JURISAI is an international non-profit organization that brings together Supreme Audit Institutions with jurisdictional activities.

It is a permanent, autonomous, independent, professional, nonpolitical entity with legal mandate to support its members and promote the jurisdictional model of public finance audit, capable of strengthening transparency, accountability and good governance in the public sector.

Judirsdicional control of public finances represents a specific model within the INTOSAI community insofar as SAIs exercising jurisdictional functions are endowed with powers that go beyond audit and evaluation activities. The establishment of JURISAI is, in this sense, a response to the need for a framework of global multilateral cooperation for these SAIs and to the fast-changing and dynamic evolution of the institutional environment in which they operate.

JURISAI is, in this respect, an institutional evolution of the Forum of Jurisdictional SAIs set up in 2015 under the umbrella of the INTOSAI Working Group on Value and Benefits of SAIs (WGVBS).

This organization, which aspires to become recognized as a related entity of INTOSAI, aims to be a unifying, inclusive cooperation framework with a broader mandate than that of the Forum, allowing to undertake a wide range of activities likely to contribute to achievement of the objectives of INTOSAI and the strenghtening of its efforts to make a sustainable global impact on transparency, accountability and good governance in the public sector.

JURISAI has 33 SAI members and its headquarters are located in Rabat.
