About the committee

The Capacity Building Commission is in charge of improving the competences of member SAIs in the field of their judicial functions through training activities, peer reviews and the development of tools for SAIs’ jurisdictional functions assessment.

It promotes and facilitates initiatives to address the needs of SAIs in terms of capacity building knowledge and best practices sharing, while facilitating dialogue among member SAIs on issues and opportunities for the development of their jurisdictional powers.

This commission is chaired by the Court of Accounts of Senegal

Terms of reference

In accordance with Article 10 of its statutes, JURISAI established the Capacity Building Commission as a permanent operational body during its constitutive General Assembly held in Paris on October 8, 2024.
Under the terms of the Organization’s 2025–2028 strategic plan, the commission is expected to focus on enhancing the capabilities of member SAIs through training, peer reviews, and the development of assessment tools. Accordingly, it will operate in line with JURISAI’s guidelines and the best practices of SAIs, particularly by adhering to the principles and standards that govern institutional, organizational, and professional capacity building.
