The Case Law Compendium of the Court of Accounts is an annual publication dating back to 1903. It compiles the most significant extracts of rulings, opinions and communications issued by audit courts, each summarized and annotated under the authority of the Case Law Committee, composed of judges. The 2025 Compendium was published on June, 17.

This edition includes, for the first time, an index of decisions published since 2023 pertaining to the financial liability regime applicable to public managers.

The extracts, each accompanied by a summary and a brief commentary, include in particular:

• the rulings handed down in 2025 by the Chamber of Disputes;
• six rulings of the audit appeal Court, a court established on January 1, 2023 as the appellate panel of the chamber of disputes;
• dismissal decisions and communications of the Prosecutor General, which report irregularities likely to invoke the liability of authorizing officers or accountants;
• opinions on jurisdiction, which clarify the scope of the supervisory powers of audit courts, and therefore that of the Court's adjudicative functions;
• opinions pertaining to budget, handed down by the regional and territorial chambers of accounts.
